Edward J. Frey, Edward L. Stoddard, and a few investors founded Foremost Insurance Company in 1952.
Their motivation was to provide insurance for the thousands of American families who live in mobile homes.
Foremost Insurance created the first mobile home insurance policy. They also commissioned a study in the early 1960s that resulted in many states enacting mandatory mobile home tie down laws and worked with Department of Housing and Urban Development to establish the original mobile home building codes. Today Foremost Insurance protects more than just mobile homes.
As a specialty insurance company, Foremost Insurance serves their markets by providing insurance choices that may not be offered by other companies.
On March 7, 2000, Foremost Insurance was acquired by the Farmers Insurance Group®.
Foremost Insurance Group is represented by more than 38,000 agents across the country and is licensed in all 50 states and Washington DC.
Thome Insurance Agency has represented Foremost Insurance since 1995.
