The Internet is the best marketing tool ever.  It has changed the way we shop.  Whether you are looking for a refrigerator, a vacation destination or insurance you probably do some searching on the Internet.

But some of the “simple ” on-line auto insurance or home insurance quoting sites have lead people to believe they can get an accurate insurance quote with only minimal disclosure of information.

The fact of the matter is that insurance companies are getting more and more sophisticated with their claims prediction models and rating procedures.  This requires more information from you, the insurance shopper.  In addition to the obvious information like the particular auto or specifics on the house you want to insure, personal information like social security number, date of birth, and driver license number are neccessary.

This data is used to get 3 different reports that contain information about you:

  1. Insurance score. This report is calculated from information provided by a credit reporting agency.
  2. C.L.U.E. report.  This is information about your previous claims from your prior insurance companies.
  3. Motor vehicle report.  This is information from each state’s department of motor vehicles.

If you really want a quote from me, please be willing to cooperate and provide the needed information for an accurate insurance quote.

As with any mathematical formula or calculation, wrong information entered results in an incorrect answer.  To prevent paying more for insurance than you have to make certain the information about you on these reports is correct!

And while we are talking about on-line quoting, how do you feel about exposing this personal information on the Internet?  I don’t even like sharing my e-mail address because of all the unwanted junk mail that will be coming my way.

If you live in the Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Marietta area please give me a call or stop by the office for a personal, no obligation quote.
